Are you making any New Years resolutions!

I guess it's that time of the year when we have to endure endless commercials for weight loss centers. Do you ever feel like you have fallen off the food wagon and ya cant get up???? Personally I'm not gonna make anymore New Years resolutions!!! Why bother when i know good and well i cant live up to it. Yea, i know i am over weight a bit, well maybe more than just a bit but I'm so tired of stressing over every single bite of food i put in my mouth. Shouldn't the ultimate goal be to be healthy and I'm sure we could all try eating a little more healthy. The whole world is so obsessed with appearance and don't get me wrong, i like to look as nice as the next person but also know i only have so much to work with too!!!!!. Sticking to a healthy diet for me is so hard!! I love food , enjoy cooking for my family and having us all sit down to a delicious home cooked meal. I am a southern girl and as country as they come !! I come from a long line of southern women that were the best cooks ever!! I would put them up against Paula Dean anytime!!! ( and i do love Paula Dean) . I was raised up on country cookin and both of my grandmothers passed down their way of doing things in the kitchen to me. When i was little my sister would go out to the fields with my grandfather and i would stay in the kitchen with grandmother. I learned alot just sitting there and watching her work her magic in the kitchen. It was normal to have fried chicken on the table for breakfast!!!!! YUM! Anyway, no more resolutions for me but am gonna try to eat healthier but not beat myself up or feel guilty over the occasional indulgence either. WE ARE ONLY HUMAN!!!!!!!!!! At least that is how i feel....

Here's to the New Year, may it be feeled with health , happiness and all things good for you and your family!!!!

Hey Sooz, I didn't fall off the food wagon. I fell right smack dab in the middle of it and ate my way (or weight) out. hehehe!!
Yeah, I could stand to lose a few, but not going to stress over it. I do want to start a regular workout routine. I am not much for going to the gym, but I do like work out videos.

My only resolution this year is to just be HAPPY and make sure to count my blessings.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hidy Suzanne!

I couldn't agree with you more...raised on southern food and part of the clean your plate club..still do!

Since loosing almost 60 pounds last year I've found I haven't given up taste at all!! It's the portions that get us...restaurants are killing us! Just knowing the calories I could consume everyday to loose 2 pounds a week, helped free me from guilt.

The main thing is...you have to eat to lose weight!! Grilled chicken, sauteed asparagus, baked sweet potato with Splenda brown sugar and Brummel & Brown butter...yum!

That picture on the header of my blog is me in size 10 pants, standing next to my size 6 daughter-in-law (4 months pregnant)and size 4 daughter....I had just finished doing the dishes after cooking the meal (turkey and trimmings), going to church, coming home and serving Christmas Eve dinner...

Last year, 60 pounds heavier, I would have been pooped!! Never would I have stood next to those young fresh skinny girls!!

I want to lose 10-15 more pounds this year and I KNOW I can do it!!

Trish and Leann are onboard and we are trying to think of a way to form a group to support each other.

My email is mbrinke1220@gmail.com
if you have questions. I'm pretty passionate about this, because I believe if I can do it...anyone can! Really!

Sorry so long..

Thanks for your sweet comments on my new grandbaby!!

Suzanne, I loved reading your post today. I too need to lose weight. I always say I'm going to do it this year for sure and never meet my goal. I am also a southern girl. Fried Chicken for breakfast was a natural at my house. What ever meat we had for dinner was put in gravy the next morning for breakfast with good ole homemade biscuits. I learn to love it. Your right about just being healthy though. I have started watching my fats and sugars and have lost 20 lbs. I am not on a diet just watching what I eat. It has been so much easier this way.

Happy New Year to you and your family.
